The Fraunhofer FOKUS Indoor Navigation System helps smartphone users navigate within buildings such as hospitals, train stations, airports, government offices, shopping malls, or large corporate complexes. When indoors, the GPS signal on the smartphone does not work properly. That’s why we developed a digital solution that is highly accurate and reliably guides users to their destination. Other technologies like beacons or Wi-Fi are more expensive, less accurate, and require more maintenance.

Our solution is very precise and can guide people even through doors and directly to their workstation, even if they have their eyes closed. It’s so accurate that even blind people can use the system to move around safely. The best part is that it works offline and is available on any modern smartphone without needing to be constantly connected to the internet. And all of this comes at very low costs for installation and maintenance.
